We are seeking a qualified ASL Instructor to join our team at the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching American Sign Language to students in our Continuing Education International & Indigenous Languages Program.
Responsibilities:- Plan and implement a comprehensive ASL program that meets the needs of our students
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students in the classroom and online
- Utilize digital tools to facilitate virtual learning and communication
- Assess and evaluate student progress and provide feedback
- Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress
- Supervise students in the classroom and online
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills
- Fluency in American Sign Language
- Teaching experience, preferably in ASL
- Related degree or diploma, with preference for Ontario College of Teachers' certification or equivalent
- Preference will be given to candidates who are deaf or hard of hearing
