Job Overview

Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind is seeking a dedicated Instructor of Persons with Visual Impairments to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in educating and training individuals with visual impairments to enhance their independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for individuals with visual impairments
  • Collaborate with our team to provide education and support services to clients
  • Conduct assessments to identify the specific needs of clients and develop personalized training plans
  • Build strong relationships with clients, families, and caregivers to ensure a high level of client satisfaction
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices and research in the field
Requirements
  • Registered Apprenticeship certificate
  • Guide Dog Mobility Instructor (GDMI) certification
  • Valid driver's licence and own transportation
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle heavy loads
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Client focus, flexibility, and judgement
