Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Vendor Performance Manager to join our team at Metrolinx. As a key member of our Corporate Vendor Management Office, you will be responsible for providing guidance and operational management of commercial decision-making and promotion of coordination of commercial leadership across the corporation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for vendors, reflecting business plans and objectives
  • Monitor performance management systems through vendor issue resolution, change requests, and standardized processes that contribute to achievement of service levels (Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Operating Level Agreements (OLAs), and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs))
  • Review daily/weekly/monthly reports for compliance to performance metrics, identify opportunities for efficiency and optimization, and bring attention to those requiring remediation
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for partner performance-related information and studies; prepare presentations for the Senior Vendor Management team
  • Maintain and enhance tools for use in vendor performance management (vendor tracking tools, performance scorecards, and dashboards)
  • Produce governance and compliance reports related to vendor service models; update and maintain monthly, quarterly, and executive service reports and distribute to applicable portals
  • Communicate service level changes to business units and advise of any impact to current agreements
  • Lead the gathering of key stakeholder input regarding needs, service delivery, and quality to align the business, in partnership with agreements and contracts
  • Chair meetings with clients, vendors, and associations to discuss performance, common issues, and develop plans of action to address
  • Assist in improving the performance of all parties involved in contracts and service level agreements
  • Implement formal procedures and governance for monitoring vendor performance
  • Monitor supplier/vendor performance against contract defined expectations and market norms
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for performance management and metrics; provide input and supports service level best practices
  • Prepare and monitor annual budgets and submit business plans regarding budget-related expenditures
  • Meet service delivery objectives and manage project and department activities within budgetary limits
  • Monitor progress to ensure that program objectives are delivered on time and within budget, and that anticipated business results are achieved
  • Create a working environment that is aligned with the organization's desire to be a 'best company to work for,' ensuring that people resources possess the required skills, are properly aligned, and are provided with the resources to do the job
  • Manage 1-4 employees in a single work group or team, performing related tasks
  • Lead and direct staff and project teams (define team member roles, responsibilities, and expectations); deliver timely feedback to ensure the optimum use of team skills; manage staff and monitor work assignments for adherence to timelines; monitor the achievement of performance objectives; develop and implement action plans to address performance gaps
Requirements
  • Completion of a degree in a related discipline – or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent
  • Demonstrated progressive experience managing vendor performance
  • Advanced/specialist certification is an asset
  • Experience establishing and monitoring strategic vendor and business service levels, and implementing formal procedures and governance for monitoring vendor performance
  • Experience preparing and monitoring annual budgets within budgetary limits
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills to participate in resolving vendor performance issues, change requests, and monitoring and addressing service and operational levels
  • Ability to work in a demanding and rapidly changing environment, with strong prioritization skills
  • Interpersonal and oral/written/presentation communications skills to communicate service level changes to business units, and produce governance and compliance reports and presentations
