**The Investment Banking Associate Role**
We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our Investment Banking team in Toronto. As an Associate, you will actively participate in a wide range of transactions, including M&A and Restructuring advisory, equity and debt financings, and other capital markets activities. You will work closely with senior bankers to manage live engagements, business development, and supervise and mentor Analysts.
**Responsibilities**
* Participate in various transactions led by senior members of the Investment Banking team
* Prepare and oversee the preparation of presentations for clients regarding public and private capital raises, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, and other capital markets items
* Create and manage detailed financial models
* Support deal origination and lead the preparation of pitch books, proposals, and other marketing material
* Participate in due diligence sessions
* Perform detailed qualitative and quantitative analyses across various industries
* Attend client meetings alongside senior staff
* Participate in activities such as recruiting and training
* Perform a wide range of other analytical tasks as required
**Qualifications**
* A minimum of three years of full-time work experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, or other relevant experience
* Strong financial and analytical skills in corporate finance analysis, including knowledge of accounting principles, all facets of valuation work, M&A, and financial statement preparation and business combination analysis
* Exceptional financial modeling skills
* Excellent presentation, oral, and written communication skills
* Well-developed organizational skills to respond to time management and shifting priorities on multiple projects
* Demonstrated job commitment, as well as personal flexibility and adaptability required to meet firm and client needs
* Ability to succeed in a team environment
* Completion of, or enrollment as a CFA candidate is considered an asset
* Experience with S&P Capital IQ, SNL, Bloomberg, and FactSet is required
