About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Data Centre Support Technician to join our team at NAV CANADA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise in the production and management of engineering-related technical drawings and documents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and update technical drawings and documents, including specifications, plans, and standards.
  • Maintain and update various databases with the most current drawings and documents.
  • Work with other TDC staff to edit, archive, and distribute technical documents.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to engineers, technologists, and project managers in the preparation of contract specifications and internal policies.
  • Monitor contracts for delivery of drafting services.
  • Facilitate effective work schedules to ensure deliverables align with organizational objectives.
  • Ensure compliance of Technical Data Centre documents with NAV CANADA standards and policies.

Requirements

  • Secondary school diploma and acceptable training program in CAD technology, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience with NAV CANADA National Drafting standards and CAD software, particularly AutoCAD.
  • Experience in electronic and electro-mechanical drafting, as well as computer peripherals.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of drafting and CAD technology.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and peripherals, machine shop procedures, and technical terminology.

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid work arrangement, with a minimum of one day per week on-site at Ottawa ANS.
