The Ramp Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting the Ramp Manager with the daily activities of the Ramp Team. You will be tasked with organizing and distributing personnel and resources to meet our service expectations for our Client Airlines. Your focus will be on ensuring that our ground handling services are executed safely, punctually, and consistently, adhering to the performance standards established for both timeliness and station efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operational performance, safety, security, and customer satisfaction through effective management of the delivery area. Consistently provide the highest level of customer service. Ensure that the airlines' services are delivered in accordance with strict service level agreements and punctuality targets. Take initiative in all aspects by planning ahead and accepting responsibility for assigned tasks. Maintain safe and proper control of all resources on the Ramp. Adhere to all Ground Handling Regulations set by Airlines and local Airport Authorities. Provide support, guidance, and motivation to team members. Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols as outlined in the Menzies Health & Safety Policy Manual and international aviation standards. Protect the health, safety, and welfare of staff, customers, and visitors in accordance with the Company's Health & Safety Policy. Address any inquiries or concerns in a professional and confident manner. Foster a culture of open reporting. Conduct thorough investigations into any incidents, non-conformities, or service failures, implementing corrective actions as necessary. Collaborate closely with GSE personnel to ensure effective management of ground support equipment, including defect reporting and equipment checks. Prevent any misuse of Company property.Qualifications and Experience:
Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience. Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in Canada. Possess a valid Driver's license and hold a DA. Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop team members. Highly organized with a keen eye for detail and accuracy, capable of working independently to meet deadlines while effectively addressing challenges. Extensive background in Ramp Handling with a solid understanding of operational departments. Knowledgeable about the IATA Standard Ground Handling Agreement. Familiar with Ground Operations Manuals, Airline procedures, Airport protocols, and relevant legislation. Well-versed in International Aviation Safety and Security standards and dedicated to promoting these within the organization. Committed to meeting customer expectations through excellence in service delivery. Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including interaction with Customer portfolios, Airport representatives, local Civil Aviation Authorities, and third-party providers. Capable of developing team members, planning for succession, and adapting business processes to meet evolving demands. Proficient in driving and executing improvement initiatives with appropriate follow-up. Skilled in identifying operational efficiencies and tailoring demands based on station dynamics. Adaptable to working with a diverse workforce and collaborating effectively with local unions. Competent in producing detailed reports for senior management. Able to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with employees, management, customers, and external entities. Flexible and responsive to changing demands, circumstances, and weather conditions. Possess a calm and approachable demeanor. Knowledge of local labor laws is advantageous. Availability and flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays. Capable of lifting up to 70lbs when necessary. Must be able to obtain and maintain all required security clearances. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.Additional Qualifications
