Job Overview

Manitoulin Transport is seeking a highly skilled Service Writer to provide technical direction and accountability for scheduling all equipment service and repairs within our service operation. This role will collaborate with our shop manager/foreman to ensure timely and accurate work-in-progress processing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with shop mechanics to ensure all service reports are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to ensure efficient service operations.
  • Work closely with the shop manager/foreman to maintain timelines and process flow.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service procedures and policies.

Requirements

  • Minimum post-secondary education.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in service operations.
  • Knowledge of the AS-400 system.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong technical, mechanical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Focused on cost analysis and cost reduction.

Benefits

  • Hourly rate up to $30 per hour based on experience.
  • Day shift, Monday to Thursday (5:30 AM to 4:00 PM).
