Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Evening Houseperson to join our housekeeping team at the Hampton Inn and Suites in Dartmouth. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the public areas of the hotel are clean and tidy, and providing exceptional customer service to our guests.
Responsibilities
- Focus on details - walk the halls assigned to you each shift to ensure the public areas are clean and tidy, caring for elevators, guestroom landings, the lobby, vending areas, etc.
- Be organized - ensure any areas assigned to you are kept stocked, clean and crisp.
- Be a team player - help the guests and your coworkers by pitching in as needed, including doing some of the heavy lifting.
- Be a housekeeping ambassador - share a warm greeting and a smile with all the guests you encounter, and assist them as needed.
- Be a safety and security agent - follow your hotel's established safety and security policies and procedures, and anticipate problems and call management as needed.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you need basic English communication skills, and prior housekeeping experience is helpful. You will need to safely operate equipment such as a vacuum, carpet cleaner, floor buffer, etc., as well as the chemicals used to maintain and clean the hotel. Heavy work - exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. In this role, you must have the ability to stand for long hours and be able to work under variable temperatures and noise levels.
