Food Service Manager

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Professional to join our team at The Grand Canal Retirement Residence. As a key member of our food services team, you will be responsible for managing kitchen operations, preparing and cooking meals, and ensuring the highest level of quality and service to our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Menu Planning and Preparation: Develop and implement menus that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of our residents.
- Kitchen Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain accurate records of food, supplies, and equipment.
- Staff Supervision: Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure they are meeting the highest standards of quality and service.
- Cleanliness and Safety: Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Work Setting: Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preferably in a retirement home or similar setting.
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of quality and service.
- Client Focus: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on providing exceptional service to our residents.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
