Position Overview:

The Asset Management Analyst will deliver critical analysis and insights to support strategic initiatives across retail, industrial, multi-family, and office asset management, alongside business development and investment management efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and analysis of operational and financial reports, budgets, collections/delinquencies, capital expenditures, utility usage, value enhancement initiatives, asset valuation, asset strategies, and market assessments (including commentary on significant markets).
  • Create dynamic pro-formas for investment and development prospects.
  • Contribute to the annual business planning process, encompassing market assumptions, rent-setting, capital budgeting, and operational strategies.
  • Support new acquisition underwriting, property dispositions, rent roll evaluations, market leasing assumptions, expense recoveries, property tax and insurance assessments, and due diligence on target markets.
  • Facilitate the monthly and quarterly reporting of financial and operational metrics, and prepare presentations for both internal management and external stakeholders.
  • Review real estate appraisals to verify the accuracy and reasonableness of value conclusions.
  • Identify, analyze, and monitor value creation initiatives and market trends.
  • Prepare ad-hoc presentations as required.
  • Assist in mortgage financing and reporting obligations to lenders.
  • Support the review and oversight of investment guidelines, risk assessments, key risk audits, and external evaluations by regulatory entities.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Business, Accounting, or Engineering with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities; progress towards accounting (CPA), appraisal (AACI), or CFA is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, Word, PowerPoint (Required); familiarity with Argus and Power BI is a plus.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience as a real estate analyst, appraisal analyst, or in real estate property accounting.
  • Experience with valuation techniques (DCF, NPV, cash flow models) and exceptional attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Skill in analyzing and articulating the strategic implications of various financial and operational models.
  • Demonstrated capability to explore and implement innovative technological efficiencies.
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • A proven track record of thriving in a fast-paced environment while adhering to deadlines.
