Job Summary

The Employment and Training Manager will be responsible for overseeing the operation and management of employment and training services for Tsawout First Nation. This includes developing and implementing strategies to support community members in achieving their education and career goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Community Engagement
    • Develop and maintain relationships with community members, leaders, and stakeholders to understand their employment and training needs.
    • Provide guidance and support to community members in accessing employment and training opportunities.
  • Program Development and Implementation
    • Design and deliver employment and training programs that meet the needs of the community.
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement program strategies.
  • Financial Management
    • Manage departmental finances, including budgeting and reporting.
    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.
  • Staff Management
    • Lead and manage a team of staff to deliver employment and training services.
    • Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to staff.
  • External Partnerships
    • Develop and maintain partnerships with external organizations to access funding and resources.
    • Collaborate with external partners to deliver employment and training programs.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Minimum high school diploma; post-secondary education or degree in a related field is an asset.
  • Experience
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in employment and training management.
  • Skills
    • Strong leadership and management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Cultural Competence
    • Knowledge of Tsawout First Nation culture and language is an asset.
  • Technical Skills
