Job Summary
FirstService Residential is seeking a highly skilled Property Accountant to join our team. As a Property Accountant, you will be responsible for the timely completion of financial reporting for a portfolio of Condominium Corporations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely completion and maintenance of accounting data to prepare monthly financial statements, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Assist in the preparation and review of annual budgets for each property.
- Facilitate year-end audits and liaise with Property Managers to address audit queries.
- Provide financial analysis and support to Property Managers and internal departments.
- Correspond with government agencies and utility providers to ensure proper reporting and remittance.
- Review and maintain monthly control sheets for financial statements, budgets, and audits.
- Prepare for acquisition of clients, including setting up opening trial balances and preparing initial budgets.
- Coordinate with handover properties and documents, and attend operation meetings as required.
- Assist Property Managers with ad-hoc financial accounting matters as needed.
Requirements
- A degree or diploma in accounting.
- 2+ years of accounting experience.
- Property accounting experience is an asset.

- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize responsibilities.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with an ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships.
- Excellent attitude and willingness to continuously learn and update skills.
- Ability to work in a flexible hour environment.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Standard proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Knowledge of YARDI Accounting software is an asset.
