Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team in the Industrial Market. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing accurate and competitive estimates for industrial projects, including pulp and paper, oil and gas, power generation, and mining.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough reviews of contract documents, specifications, and drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop detailed material take-offs, labor take-offs, subcontract requirements, and equipment requirements for each project.
  • Obtain necessary information from suppliers, subcontractors, owners, designers, and architects to ensure accurate estimates.
  • Prepare tenders by quantifying, organizing, and tabulating material, equipment, labor, and subcontract costs.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing to obtain pricing on materials, equipment, and subcontracts.
  • Review estimates with Project Managers, Division Managers, and Site Supervisors to ensure agreement on labor, material, equipment, and subcontracting quantities and costs.
  • Participate in site reviews, tender reviews, project closings, and meetings with Division Managers, Project Managers, Site Supervisors, and Purchasing Personnel.
  • Review tender closing documents and obtain signatures, bonding, and insurance certificates.
  • Follow up on submitted tenders with general contractors, clients, and owners to obtain bid results.
  • Participate in daily and weekly estimating reporting of closings, opportunities, and workload.
  • Meet monthly and yearly quotas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Electrical or Instrumentation Trade Certificate, Technology Certificate, and/or Engineering Degree.
  • Familiarity with estimating software is an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
  • Familiarity with BIM and Procore software is an asset.
