About the Role

Thermon, a leading industrial technology company, is seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Specialist to join their Canadian team. As a key member of the HSE team, you will be responsible for aligning and implementing Thermon's Canadian and global HSE programs, policies, procedures, and processes. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of Thermon's construction services, manufacturing, and temporary power solutions groups in Alberta.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement HSE practices and processes that align with company goals and drive business success.
  • Advocate for the resolution of HSE issues and concerns, including internal investigations, corrective actions, and coaching.
  • Champion and model Thermon's core values, embedding them in the company culture and psyche.
  • Provide full-service HSE support for Thermon's operations in Edmonton, Calgary, and Fort McMurray.
  • Maintain and improve the Certificate of Recognition (COR) certified HSE program.
  • Assist with the development and review of Job Hazard/Risk Assessments and Safe Work Practices.
  • Maintain all company safety certifications and training, as well as applicable documentation and records.
  • Evaluate and manage subcontractors.
  • Manage WCB claims and support managers and supervisors in the safe and early return to work of injured employees.
  • Manage online compliance sites, such as ISNetworld, Avetta, Complyworks, etc.
  • Visit customer/project sites to ensure compliance with legislated and Thermon requirements.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline and experience.
  • CRSP designation or working towards.
  • 5 years of direct working experience in the administration of Health and Safety programs.
What You Bring to This Role
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Alberta Health and Safety legislation.
  • Knowledge of other provincial Health and Safety regulations an asset.
  • Experience with Certificate of Recognition (COR) program (Certified auditor an asset).
  • Experience in managing HSE programs across multiple sites.
  • Verbal and written fluency in English.
  • Strong computer proficiency, with emphasis on MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to travel to customer/project sites and Thermon facilities in Alberta.
