As a Health, Safety, and Environment Student, you will be an integral part of our team, contributing to the development of our projects and ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all.

About the Role

  • Assist HSE professionals with inspections and investigations to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Manage documents, including data entry, SMC entries, taking minutes, and filing, to maintain accurate records.
  • Develop training materials and other documents to enhance knowledge sharing and compliance.
  • Review paperwork, such as PTSP, tailgate meetings, and safety procedures, to ensure adherence to regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain the environmental program to minimize our ecological footprint.
  • Recognize and follow PCL and local legislative requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Analyze site-specific trends and incidents, and report findings to the district to inform decision-making.
  • Gather, review, and distribute safety-related statistical information to inform risk management strategies.
  • Interpret, communicate, and reinforce project safety standards to the project team to ensure a culture of safety.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate program, with a preference for Statistics, Occupational Health and Safety, and/or Psychology programs.
  • Proficient in various computer programs, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with the team.
  • Ability to plan and employ preventative measures to reduce the risks of exposure to hazards.
  • Strong willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.
