Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety & Environment Coordinator to join our team at EllisDon. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and take corrective action
- Provide training and education to employees and subcontractors on safety protocols and procedures
- Monitor and report on safety statistics and trends
- Collaborate with management and employees to promote a safety-first culture
- Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and industry partners
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in health and safety
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a safety-related role
- Valid OFA L3 certificate (or ability to obtain)
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certificate an asset
- Construction Safety Coordinator Gold Seal Certification or CRSP Designation an asset
- Experience in the Certificate of Recognition (COR) program an asset
- Ability to delegate and influence others to follow safety rules and regulations
