We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Hexion. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees, contractors, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective health and safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular site audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on health and safety procedures and protocols.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with site leadership and employees to promote a culture of health and safety awareness and engagement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and industry stakeholders to stay up-to-date on changing regulations and industry best practices.
  • Manage and maintain health and safety records and reports, including incident reports, training records, and regulatory compliance documentation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in health and safety, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, including OSHA and CSA standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and problem-solving.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications, including health and safety management systems.
