Job Title: Food Service Supervisor

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Food Service Supervisor to join our team at WORLD FOOD NETWORK INC.

Job Summary:

The Food Service Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food service department, ensuring that all food and service meet quality control standards. This includes supervising and coordinating the activities of staff who prepare and portion food, training staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures, and maintaining records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules and requisition food and kitchen supplies.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food.
  • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures.
  • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards.
  • Prepare budget and cost estimates.
  • Address customers' complaints or concerns.
  • Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage.
  • Prepare and submit reports.
  • Establish work schedules.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, and with tight deadlines.
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking, and standing for extended periods.
  • Attention to detail and excellent oral communication skills.
Work Environment:

The Food Service Supervisor will work in a restaurant environment with a team of 3-4 people. The work environment is noisy and hot.

Security and Safety:

A criminal record check is required for this position.

  • Initiative and ability to work under pressure.

The Food Service Supervisor will participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees.

The Food Service Supervisor will provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.

Support for Indigenous People:

The Food Service Supervisor will develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations.

Support for Visible Minorities:

The Food Service Supervisor will apply hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities.
