We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Supervisor to join our team at WORLD FOOD NETWORK INC.

Job Summary:

The Food Service Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food service department, ensuring that all food and service meet quality control standards. This includes supervising and coordinating the activities of staff who prepare and portion food, training staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures, and maintaining records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules and ensure that food and service meet quality control standards.
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies, and maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff who prepare and portion food, and train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures.
  • Prepare budget and cost estimates, and address customers' complaints or concerns.
  • Maintain a fast-paced environment, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Work in a combination of sitting, standing, walking, and standing for extended periods.
  • Attention to detail and excellent oral communication skills are essential.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a food service environment.
  • Ability to work in a noisy and hot environment.
  • Ability to work in a restaurant setting.
  • Ability to establish work schedules and maintain records.
  • Ability to address customers' complaints or concerns.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Participation in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees.
  • Recruitment of newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster.
  • Development and maintenance of relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations.
  • Providing cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees.
