Job Overview

SLR Consulting (Canada) is seeking a Senior Remediation Specialist to enhance our skilled team of environmental professionals. This role requires a dedicated individual with extensive knowledge in remediation methodologies and technologies, who can contribute to our collaborative efforts in delivering innovative solutions.

As a senior expert, you will play a vital role in our technical service offerings, focusing on the design and execution of effective remedial strategies while providing valuable technical guidance to our clients.

Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Offering strategic and technical remediation consulting to clients and SLR staff involved in complex projects nationwide.
  • Developing Remedial Options Analyses, Remedial Action Plans, and comprehensive engineering designs along with necessary technical documentation.
  • Ensuring successful project execution with respect to health & safety, scope, schedule, budget, quality assurance, and client satisfaction.
  • Identifying opportunities for collaboration with clients across various sectors.
  • Working alongside other SLR disciplines to broaden our service offerings and enhance client relationships.
  • Leading business development initiatives and proposal efforts to meet strategic objectives.
  • Mentoring junior and intermediate staff, fostering their professional growth.
  • Staying updated on emerging technologies and techniques to advance industry practices.
  • Overseeing remedial field operations conducted by contractors and SLR personnel.

Required Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific or engineering field, with a preference for a Master's degree.
  • Over 15 years of pertinent experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Familiarity with provincial, local, and industry-specific regulations and best practices in remediation and site assessment.

Experience in:

  • Developing and executing remediation strategies for various environmental media.
  • Designing, implementing, and assessing in-situ remedial systems.
  • Managing environmental projects and leading project teams.
  • Contract management for large-scale remediation projects.
  • Successful client engagement and proposal development.
  • Monitoring performance and conducting technical reviews of reports.

Additionally, candidates must hold a valid Professional Engineer or Geoscientist license in BC, AB, or other jurisdictions, and possess a valid driver's license with the ability to travel as required.
