Job Summary:

The Account Executive is a field-based, direct sales role responsible for both client retention and growth through contract expansion and the introduction of new products and services. This role requires a consultative approach to develop and implement an effective, enterprise-wide strategy that maximizes the value delivered by Gartner's products and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Account Management: Develop and execute account plans to increase customer satisfaction, retention, and account growth.
  • Quota Responsibility: Meet or exceed quota of $800,000+ of contract value within a territory of major client accounts.
  • Sales Methodology: Master and consistently execute Gartner's sales methodology to drive sales success.
  • Account Planning and Territory Management: Develop and manage account plans and territory strategies to drive growth and retention.
  • Forecast Accuracy: Maintain accurate forecasts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Competitive Knowledge: Stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitor activity.
  • Product Knowledge: Develop in-depth knowledge of Gartner's products and services.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 6-10 years of experience in consultative sales, preferably in high technology (services, software, or consultative environment), with evidence of prior success in Sales.
  • Skills: Strong demonstration of intellect, drive, executive presence, and sales acumen.
  • Client Relationships: Proven experience building excellent client relationships at C-level within large enterprise organizations.
  • Technical Skills: Strong computer proficiency and presentation skills.
  • Sales Process: Knowledge of the full life cycle of the sales process.
  • Education: Bachelor's or master's degree – desired.
