Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing administrative support and technical assistance to instructors and students in the trades areas. The successful candidate will have a strong background in heavy duty equipment and welding, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support, including responding to inquiries, drafting correspondence, and maintaining departmental records.
  • Prepare and set up shop projects, and construct training aids for departmental programs.
  • Supervise shop activity, respond to student queries, and offer guidance on techniques and procedures.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot shop training aids and equipment.
  • Coordinate facility tours and events, and organize promotional materials.
  • Act as a liaison with external organizations, including the Apprenticeship Board and industry contacts.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 plus Red Seal Certification in Heavy Duty Equipment or related trades program.
  • Over one year of related experience working with heavy mechanical equipment and welding.
  • Forklift 1-4-5 certification required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
