About the Role: Senior Die Process Engineer

As a Senior Die Process Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful development and implementation of automotive stamping processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that meet customer requirements and industry standards.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Lead the engineering review process, ensuring deliverables are met with quality, on time, and holding vendors accountable.
  • Perform functional die planning reviews, including hard-touch analysis, pad/post clearance, part nesting, and 3D cut data preparation.
  • Support press activities for First Part to Gauge Correlation (FPG) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Train other departments on best practices and processes related to die design and stamping operations.
  • Analyze Sigma (Robustness) studies to assess performance and impact on each part, contributing to robust product development.
  • Conduct preliminary spring-back studies to understand dimensional risk, measure fixture concepts, and plan spring-back compensation strategies.
  • Develop best practices and standards for commodities within the stamping process.
  • Lead correlation activities and initiatives to enhance formability, cosmetic appearance, and dimensional accuracy of stamped parts.
  • Participate in Lessons Learned workshops and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Your Qualifications:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced engineer with a strong understanding of automotive stamping processes.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in the automotive industry, specifically with Class A closure panels.
  • In-depth knowledge of sheet metal formability, material properties, die processing, and design principles.
  • Expertise in interpreting GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications.
  • Proficiency in using CAD/CAM software for die design and simulation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
