Overview
Canadian Plains Energy Services is seeking skilled Estimators to aid in formulating comprehensive cost strategies and execution plans. The role involves conducting material and quantity assessments, preparing competitive bids, and supporting contract obligations, alongside developing preliminary estimates for oil and gas infrastructure and above-ground pipelines.
WORK LOCATION:
Candidates must reside in the Lloydminster area or nearby regions considered local.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the creation of tender submissions and preliminary conceptual estimates for oil and gas projects and pipeline construction, while coordinating project timelines for managerial review.
- Gather, assess, and compile quotations from subcontractors, ensuring timely updates of subcontractor information.
- Draft initial cost summaries for various projects.
- Offer technical support during contract negotiations.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- A relevant diploma or degree (e.g., business administration, trade certification) is preferred.
- A minimum of five years' experience in the oil and gas construction sector with practical involvement.
- At least five years of direct experience in estimation roles.
- Thorough understanding of mechanical and structural elements necessary for estimating construction costs related to oil and gas facilities and pipelines.
- Experience in generating cost estimates and plans for both small and large-scale plant facilities.
- Strong computer proficiency, especially in MS Excel and MS Project.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to facilitate and participate in group discussions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Attention to detail with meticulous record-keeping practices.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proactive in seeking and completing tasks that contribute to a safe and efficient work environment.
