Job Summary:

School District No. 48 (Sea to Sky) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Education Support Specialist to join our team as an on-call Education Assistant. This role provides critical support to students with physical disabilities, chronic health impairments, intellectual disabilities, and social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of the Principal(s) and general supervision of the Classroom Teacher(s), provide assistance to students with designated needs.
  • Support the achievement of stated program goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with educational teams to develop and implement individualized support plans.
  • Provide a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to ensure seamless support.

Requirements:

  • Completion of Grade 12 plus a special program (e.g., Capilano University Education Assistant Program).
  • Over six (6) months up to and including one (1) year's related experience.
  • Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License.
  • Knowledge of basic First Aid.
  • Basic knowledge of related learning tools (e.g., computers).
