Job Summary

School District No. 48 (Sea to Sky) is seeking a dedicated Education Support Specialist to join our team. As an Education Support Specialist, you will provide assistance to students with physical disabilities, chronic health impairments, intellectual disabilities, and/or social, emotional, and behavioral problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of the Principal(s) and general supervision of the Classroom Teacher(s), provide support to students with diverse needs.
  • Assist students in achieving their academic and personal goals, while supporting the achievement of stated program goals and objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and other stakeholders to develop and implement individualized support plans.
  • Provide basic first aid and respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Operate learning tools, such as computers, and other equipment as required.
Qualifications
  • Completion of Grade 12 plus a special program, such as the Capilano University Education Assistant Program.
  • Over six (6) months up to and including one (1) year's related experience.
  • Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License.
  • Knowledge of basic first aid.
  • Basic knowledge of related learning tools.
