We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Education Support Specialist to join our team at School District #48 (Sea to Sky). As an Education Support Specialist, you will provide assistance to students with physical disabilities, chronic health impairments, intellectual disabilities, and/or social, emotional, and behavioral problems.
Key Responsibilities- Under the direction of the Principal(s) and general supervision of the Classroom Teacher(s), provide support to students with diverse needs.
- Assist students in achieving their academic and personal goals, while supporting the achievement of stated program goals and objectives.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized support plans.
- Provide basic first aid and respond to emergencies as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and reports as required.
- Completion of Grade 12 plus a special program and over six (6) months up to and including one (1) year's related experience.
- A special program would be the Capilano University Education Assistant Program.
- Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License.
- Knowledge of basic first aid.
- Basic knowledge of related learning tools (e.g., computers, etc.).
- A dynamic and supportive work environment.
