Position Overview: The Lead, Vendor Risk Management is integral to the newly established Vendor Governance Program at OMERS, collaborating with essential stakeholders such as Business Process Owners, Sourcing, Finance, Data & Technology, Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Internal Audit, and Risk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct due diligence and risk assessments during the onboarding of vendors.
  • Oversee the requirements for vendor monitoring and facilitate vendor offboarding processes.
  • Engage in daily operations associated with the Vendor Governance framework, including reviewing vendor engagements and executing vendor due diligence activities.
  • Assess vendor risks and ensure compliance with established policies.
  • Ensure high data quality and completeness of vendor risk records, providing clarity on potential risks introduced by new third parties.
  • Execute ongoing monitoring activities post-vendor contracting to mitigate any new risks to OMERS.
  • Collaborate with extended risk domains to reassess risks and conduct attestation reviews.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all Vendor Governance matters, including processes, artifacts, reporting, and associated projects.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous enhancement of the Vendor Governance Program, aligning with OMERS policies and procedures.
  • Support Business Process Owners in executing their responsibilities within the Vendor Governance Program.
  • Provide coaching and training to Business Process Owners, developing training materials and resources.
  • Centralize and create vendor risk memos for high-risk vendors.
  • Coordinate incident identification, reporting, response, and mitigation strategies.
  • Perform analysis and reporting to ensure compliance with policies.
  • Build strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including Internal Audit, to evaluate the Vendor Governance Program.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in third-party risk management roles.
  • Experience in complex corporate environments with cross-disciplinary collaboration.
  • Proficient in Vendor Management.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain risk processes and controls.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Cloud ERP and Contract Lifecycle Management systems such as Sirion.
