Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Banquet Captain to join our team at Marriott Hotels. As a Banquet Captain, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of events and functions, providing exceptional service to our guests, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with chefs, stewards, and other team members to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Total charges for group functions and prepare and present checks to group contacts for payment.
  • Ensure banquet rooms, restaurants, and coffee breaks are ready for service, and that all centerpieces are displayed on every table.
  • Inspect the cleanliness and presentation of all china, glass, and silver prior to use.
  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns or issues.
  • Set tables according to type of event and service standards.
  • Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of work areas throughout the day.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 2 years of related work experience in a hospitality or event service environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Physical stamina to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Supervisory experience in a hospitality or event service environment.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service standards and procedures.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
