Position Overview:

As a Strategic Management Advisor, your role will encompass a diverse range of responsibilities aimed at enhancing organizational effectiveness. Your key duties will include:

  • Developing comprehensive strategies and recommending best practices to optimize program and portfolio outcomes.
  • Delivering tailored, value-driven consulting services to a variety of municipal programs and initiatives.
  • Conducting policy analysis and providing strategic guidance to management teams regarding operational and organizational matters.
  • Collaborating with clients and stakeholders to define project scopes and objectives.
  • Offering innovative solutions and identifying methods to analyze complex planning challenges, providing insightful recommendations as necessary.
  • Performing research and analysis to present findings and strategic recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Assisting management in evaluating and developing practical solutions from an objective standpoint.
  • Supporting project steering committees and leading cross-functional teams and working groups.
  • Taking on temporary managerial roles during transitional phases of organizational change initiatives.
  • Contributing to the formulation and execution of strategic organizational designs and effective governance frameworks.
  • Evaluating corporate effectiveness and preparing confidential reports regarding program delivery, management policies, and organizational restructuring.
  • Leading or assisting multi-divisional teams in the development of corporate policies and assessing operational implications.
  • Researching and reviewing new management technologies and advising on their applicability within the organization.
  • Encouraging organizational learning and facilitating change through comprehensive initiatives.
  • Building and maintaining collaborative relationships within and outside the organization, ensuring continuous professional development.

Essential Qualifications:

Applicants for the Strategic Management Advisor position should demonstrate qualifications that include:

  • A degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Significant experience in providing strategic counsel and adapting communication for diverse audiences.
  • Background in management consulting, strategic planning, or business analysis within the public sector or related fields.
  • Experience in application management and lifecycle processes.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with proficiency in research methodologies.
  • Capability to present complex information clearly and strategically.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on teamwork, planning, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Ability to foster trust and maintain effective working relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders.
