We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Activity Leader, Support and Inclusion to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Vancouver.
About the Role:The Activity Leader, Support and Inclusion will work effectively within a staff team to provide an inclusive environment of support, strategies, and resources for children with diverse needs to fully participate within the program.
Responsibilities:- Provide individual support to children within the program setting when required.
- Help to build and contribute to a community environment of global supports and inclusion for all children through supporting their strengths and stretches.
- Help children navigate conflict and role model positive behaviors.
- Contribute to the development, integration, and maintenance of care plans within the program.
- Provide enhanced ratio to support all children in the program, which may entail providing individual support from time to time.
- Must be at least 19 years of age.
- Experience working with children 5 – 12 with additional support needs.
- Emergency First Aid and CRC – C & AED.
- 20 hours of training in Child Development, Child Guidance and/or Nutrition an asset.
- Experience working with children with diverse needs.
