Manufacturing Operations Supervisor

Dawn Staffing Solutions Inc. is currently seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee operations within a dynamic food manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee Production Activities:
    • Manage the daily functions of production personnel, ensuring achievement of output goals.
    • Collaborate with various departments (such as Quality Assurance and Maintenance) to facilitate uninterrupted production.
    • Evaluate production workflows and implement necessary adjustments to enhance operational efficiency.
  2. Staff Leadership:
    • Provide training, guidance, and oversight to production teams, including machine operators and assembly line staff.
    • Conduct periodic performance assessments and offer constructive feedback to team members.
    • Organize workforce schedules, including shifts and overtime, to align with production requirements.
  3. Quality Assurance:
    • Guarantee that all products comply with the organization's quality benchmarks and specifications.
    • Establish and enforce quality control measures throughout the production process.
    • Quickly address any quality-related concerns and implement corrective measures as necessary.
  4. Health and Safety Compliance:
    • Foster a safety-oriented culture on the production floor by enforcing safety guidelines and conducting training sessions.
    • Ensure adherence to food safety standards (such as HACCP and GMP) and internal policies.
    • Investigate incidents or accidents and implement strategies to prevent future occurrences.
  5. Process Enhancement:
    • Identify and act on opportunities for operational improvements to boost productivity and efficiency.
    • Engage in Lean Manufacturing initiatives and other ongoing improvement projects.
    • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and report production metrics to upper management.
  6. Inventory Oversight:
    • Monitor stock levels of raw materials, packaging, and other essential supplies.
    • Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely access to necessary materials.
    • Reduce waste and optimize resource utilization.
  7. Record Keeping and Reporting:
    • Maintain precise documentation of production activities, including output, downtime, and quality issues.
    • Prepare and deliver regular reports on production performance to management.
    • Ensure all production and quality-related documentation is current and properly organized.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred); or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience: At least 3-5 years in a supervisory capacity within the food manufacturing sector.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
    • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
    • Familiarity with food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMP) and quality assurance practices.
    • Ability to perform under pressure and meet stringent deadlines.
    • Proficient in production management software and tools.
    • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
