Clinical Physiotherapy Specialist

As a key member of the Physiotherapy Department, the successful candidate will engage in a variety of responsibilities that encompass:
- Clinical Assessments: Performing thorough evaluations, developing care plans, implementing treatment strategies, and planning for patient discharge, particularly for individuals with complex geriatric, neurological, and musculoskeletal conditions.
- Education and Mentorship: Actively participating in the training and guidance of physiotherapy students and assistants, fostering a learning environment.
- Collaborative Care: Working closely with an inter-professional team, volunteers, and the physiotherapy clinical team to promote a systematic, evidence-based approach to client-centered care, program development, and evaluation.
- Supervision: Overseeing the patient care plan and providing direction, supervision, and monitoring of physiotherapy assistants.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Current licensure in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
- Membership or eligibility for membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association is considered an asset.
- Experience working with geriatric populations with multiple medical conditions and/or cognitive impairments is preferred.
- Background in providing clinical instruction and teaching to physiotherapy students is advantageous.
- Previous experience or interest in developing evidence-based programs is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications including Meditech, MDS, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
