Mechanic Assistant

We are seeking a reliable and physically capable individual to join our team at STEELHEAD TRUCK AND TRAILER REPAIR LTD as a Mechanic Assistant. This is a permanent position that requires a strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Mechanics: Provide support to our experienced mechanics in the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment and trucks.
- Tool Handling: Safely move and store tools and equipment in the workshop.
- Site Safety: Assist in maintaining a safe working environment by following safety procedures and protocols.
- Support Tradespersons: Provide assistance to tradespersons, apprentices, and other workers as directed.
- Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning machines and equipment.
The work environment is physically demanding and requires the ability to work in a noisy and dusty environment. The successful candidate will be required to lift heavy loads and work at heights.
Requirements- Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required.
- Experience: Willingness to train and learn new skills.
- Language: English is the primary language of communication in the workplace.
- Physical Demands: The successful candidate will be required to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and work in a physically demanding environment.
