Mechanic Assistant

XLI Logistics Inc is seeking a skilled Mechanic Assistant to join our team. As a Mechanic Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our mechanics and tradespersons in various tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Mechanics and Tradespersons: Provide support to our mechanics and tradespersons in moving tools, equipment, and other materials as needed.
- Surveying Support: Assist in holding stakes during surveying activities, ensuring accurate and efficient work.
- Support for Colleagues: Help tradespersons, apprentices, and other workers as directed, promoting a collaborative work environment.
- Cleanliness and Organization: Clean machines and immediate work areas, maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
- Excellent Communication: Possess excellent oral communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and management.
- Flexibility and Initiative: Demonstrate flexibility and initiative in adapting to changing work requirements and priorities.
- Organizational Skills: Display strong organizational skills, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- On-the-Job Training: Willingness to learn and participate in on-the-job training tailored to your skills and interests.
- Integration Support: Assist in supporting the social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees, including facilitating access to community resources, language training, and skills training.
- Recruitment: Recruit newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster, promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
- Youth Support: Offer on-the-job training tailored to youth, providing opportunities for skill development and career advancement.
- Mentorship and Coaching: Provide mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for youth, fostering their growth and success.
- Cultural Competency: Develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations, promoting cultural awareness and understanding.
- Awareness Training: Provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees, creating a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
- Permanent Position: This is a permanent position with XLI Logistics Inc, offering stability and opportunities for growth.
- Language of Work: The primary language of work is English.
- Working Hours: The working hours are 35 to 40 hours per week, providing a healthy work-life balance.
