Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and physically fit individual to join our team as a Mechanic Assistant at STEELHEAD TRUCK AND TRAILER REPAIR LTD. As a Mechanic Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our mechanics in maintaining and repairing heavy equipment and trucks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Mechanics: Provide support to our experienced mechanics in performing routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment and trucks.
  • Tool Handling: Safely move and store tools, equipment, and other materials as needed.
  • Site Safety: Signal safety procedures to other workers and the general public to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Support Team: Assist tradespersons, apprentices, and other workers as directed by supervisors.
  • Cleanliness: Clean machines and immediate work areas to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Work Environment

As a Mechanic Assistant, you will work in a fast-paced environment with a team of experienced mechanics. The work site can be noisy and dusty, and you will be required to lift heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment.

Requirements
  • Physical Demands: Be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Manual Dexterity: Have good manual dexterity and be able to perform tasks that require hand-eye coordination.
  • Combination of Sitting, Standing, Walking: Be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Bending, Crouching, Kneeling: Be able to bend, crouch, and kneel as needed.
