About the Role

XLI Logistics Inc is seeking a skilled Mechanic Assistant to join our team. As a Mechanic Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our mechanics and tradespersons in various tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist mechanics and tradespersons with moving tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Provide support during surveying activities by holding stakes as needed.
  • Help tradespersons, apprentices, and other workers with tasks as directed.
  • Clean machines and immediate work areas to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
Personal Qualities
  • Excellent oral communication skills to effectively interact with team members and clients.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules.
  • Initiative to take on additional responsibilities and contribute to the team's success.
  • Organized to manage tasks and prioritize work effectively.
Training and Development
  • Will receive on-the-job training to develop skills and knowledge.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees
  • Support social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees by facilitating access to community resources, language training, and skills training.
  • Recruit newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster.
Support for Youths
  • Offer on-the-job training tailored to youth to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for youth to support their career development.
Support for Indigenous People
  • Develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations.
  • Provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
Work Environment
  • Permanent employment with XLI Logistics Inc.
  • English as the primary language of communication.
  • 35 to 40 hours of work per week.
