Control Systems Engineering Specialist

Control Systems Engineering Specialist plays a pivotal role in the realm of automation and control systems within the oil and gas sector. This position is essential for ensuring the integrity and efficiency of control systems.
Key Responsibilities- Engage in the development and maintenance of software solutions tailored for control systems.
- Conduct assessments and validations of system hardware and pre-existing software components.
- Facilitate the design, installation, and testing of designated product test environments.
- Integrate software and hardware components while preparing essential engineering documentation, including test procedures and operational manuals.
- Provide site support and software maintenance services, which may include shift work.
- Implement and uphold critical project support systems, such as configuration management and document control.
- Assist in the selection and qualification of control systems hardware.
- Prepare and review validation tests and their outcomes.
- Oversee change control processes, ensuring software files and documentation are meticulously maintained.
- Develop and sustain work plans for control software modifications.
- Identify and report potential impacts on technical quality from various tool manufacturers.
- Ensure all activities are conducted safely, in collaboration with safety management.
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- A degree in Engineering (Electrical, Control, Software) from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in control systems engineering.
- Proficiency in Siemens PLC programming, including Step 7 and related tools.
- Experience with PELCO systems is advantageous.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and understand engineering change control processes.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite.
