Clinical Counsellor

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Counsellor to join our team at BC Children's Hospital. As a Clinical Counsellor, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, design, and deliver individual and group counselling sessions to patients, identifying their goals and expectations, and providing education and support to promote positive change.
- Conduct intakes, assessments, treatment planning, crisis intervention, consultations, and group therapy sessions, working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure comprehensive care.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based practices and tailoring interventions to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care transitions and effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Participate in program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of quality indicators and measurement tools to enhance service delivery.
- Master's degree in a health-related discipline, such as Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, or a related field.
- Specific training and certification applicable to the program area and patient population, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Two years of recent related work experience in community and/or hospital organizations, with experience working with the designated client population, including experience in planning, coordinating, and evaluating within a multi-disciplinary team setting.
- Eligibility for membership and registration in the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.
