Clinical Counsellor Educator

Job Summary
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Clinical Counsellor Educator to join their Regional Allied Health Education team at Vancouver General Hospital and travel to other regional sites as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide discipline-specific education and expertise across the health authority in a team-based environment.
- Offer clinical and educational support to designated staff within Vancouver Coastal Health.
- Coordinate student placements and support, and mentor clinical preceptors.
- Develop and implement educational programs, provide training in practice, and assist with the development and rollout of new clinical practices.
- Consult with healthcare providers regarding clinical concerns or requirements to improve client care.
- Provide training in clinical counselling practices, including knowledge transfer of best practices, modifying techniques, and assisting with the development of new clinical practices.
- Maintain and update knowledge of clinical and professional practice, including hands-on clinical competencies.
Qualifications
- Master's of Clinical Counseling or Counselling Psychology from an accredited academic institution, plus a minimum of four years' recent, related clinical counselling experience, and completion of a professional instructional program for teaching.
- Experience creating educational materials, implementing education strategies, utilizing knowledge translation abilities, and supervising students, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Eligible for registration with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and/or the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
- Valid BC Driver's License, as local area travel within the VCH geographic area may occur, and access to a vehicle may be required.
