This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities related to shipping, receiving, inspection, and inventory management. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Logistics and Inventory Specialist will play a crucial role in maintaining optimal inventory levels, overseeing customer shipments, and ensuring efficient warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shipping Operations: Calculate freight costs, package products, and coordinate logistics efficiently.
- Receiving Duties: Unload shipments, verify the accuracy of received goods, and organize items in designated locations.
- Quality Inspections: Assess the quality of incoming materials, conduct thorough inspections, and address any discrepancies.
- Schedule and conduct inventory counts, maintain an orderly warehouse environment, and serve as a key user of SAP.
- Oversee equipment certification and ensure compliance with safety inspections.
- Perform additional tasks as required to support warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
- Completion of college or university education.
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Experience in warehouse operations and inventory control.
- Certification as a forklift operator.
- Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
Desired Skills:
- Strong organizational abilities.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Capability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
- Familiarity with inventory control methodologies.
- APICS certification is advantageous.
Work Environment:
- This position is categorized as safety-sensitive.
- Physical capability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
