Job Summary:We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Warehouse Specialist to join our Engineered Solutions team in Kingston, Ontario. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing all Shipping, Receiving, Inspection, and Inventory control duties for our warehouse.
Main Responsibilities:- Shipping Activities: Provide estimated freight costs to Customer Service/Bid Management, pull, clean, package, and label product for delivery to customers, organize shipment logistics with couriers, arrange customs for outgoing shipments, and coordinate freight charges with accounting.
- Receiving Activities: Unload freight from carrier's trucks, verify accuracy and condition of received goods, receive product into SAP, move goods to proper locations/departments, and verify accuracy and condition of received goods.
- Receiving Inspections: Validate the quality of received materials based on set acceptance criteria, perform mechanical, visual, and dimensional inspections of parts using inspection hand tools, quarantine and manage product/parts that do not pass inspection, and communicate with Purchasing agent.
- Establish and track daily cycle counts per A, B, C inventory codes to ensure complete inventory coverage during the calendar year.
- Maintain an organized warehouse according to 5S Principles.
- SAP Key User: Troubleshoot issues and problems in order to bring to a satisfactory resolution, correct SAP inventory transaction background batch failures, and provide training and support to colleagues.
- Track and coordinate required calibration certification of shop equipment.
- Perform daily, monthly, and yearly safety inspections of identified shop equipment.
- Completion of College or University or a comparable combination of education, training, and related work experience.
- Two years of related experience, including previous Warehouse experience with Inventory Control and Receiving inspection.
- Certified forklift operator or willing to become certified.
- Proficiency in SAP (or similar ERP system), MS Excel, and MS Word.
- Strong knowledge base in principles of inventory control, cycle counting, physical inventory practices, and related processes.
- The position is based at Draeger Safety Canada Ltd., Kingston, ON.
- This is a Safety Sensitive position, and you may be subject to post-employment drug or alcohol screenings.
- You must have the ability to walk, climb a rolling warehouse ladder, and lift up to 50 lbs. as part of day-to-day work.
