Bilingual Inventory Management Specialist (Contract)

Reporting to the Senior Manager, the role involves the development, training, and implementation of veterinary management software (PiMS). The successful candidate will collaborate with establishment teams, Field Operations, and IT to assess current inventory management practices, identify areas for enhancement, create streamlined processes, provide training and support, and ensure accurate physical inventory outcomes and robust audits that improve reporting accuracy and financial results.

The ideal candidate will possess a proactive mindset, demonstrate intellectual curiosity, and show a strong commitment to process optimization. Experience in similar roles is essential, along with the ability to adapt to diverse and evolving situations and priorities.

The selected individual will align with VetStrategy's core principles, which prioritize the success of our establishments by focusing on patients, clients, and team members.

Key Responsibilities

Forge effective partnerships with clinic managers and the Field Operations team to identify opportunities for enhancing inventory management practices.Evaluate and refine existing physical inventory procedures to enhance control measures within establishments.Analyze stock count results to identify root causes and contribute to improved outcomes.Create training materials and procedures for transitioning to a modern cloud-based platform, covering reorder points, receiving protocols, product returns, purchasing, and counting protocols.Develop processes to optimize inventory management in both existing establishments and new acquisitions.Formulate a comprehensive plan to enhance inventory control, complete with timelines, and oversee its execution.Monitor stock levels across establishments to pinpoint opportunities for improvement and enhance controls.Generate inventory reports as required.Collaborate with external resources to assist in the development of training procedures and documentation.

Qualifications and Skills

A minimum of 2 years of experience in a related role within veterinary medicine is preferred.Post-secondary education in a relevant field or a combination of education and experience pertinent to the role.Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to engage at all organizational levels.Experience in conducting training sessions for groups of varying sizes.Prior experience in inventory management within veterinary medicine or a comparable sector.Willingness to learn and understand financial principles (cost of goods sold, cost accounting, EBITDA, etc.).A passionate individual with enthusiasm, energy, and a positive outlook.Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google applications.Familiarity with various establishment management software (Logivet, Avimark, Cornerstone, Infinity, etc.) is advantageous.Bilingualism (English/French) is highly desirable.
