Job Description

Job Title: Technical Training Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced bilingual Specialist, Technical Training to join our team at Bilingual Source. The Specialist will support the Manager, Technical Training in the development and facilitation of e-Learning and instructor-led courses to increase the knowledge and skill of dealership Technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and facilitate instructor-led courses across Canada with a focus on the province of Quebec, including all aspects required for the successful transfer of knowledge.
  • Facilitate instructor-led courses in other regions as required.
  • Assist in the design, development, or restructuring of e-Learning courses, job aids, reference guides, and classroom training-related materials.
  • Manage the respective Technical Training center/s for day-to-day operations and maintain assets such as, but not limited to, vehicles, equipment, storage, and security procedures.
  • Configure e-Learning courses on the company's Learning Management Systems (LMS) including testing to ensure proper functionality.
  • Respond to requests for assistance from dealership employees with regards to accessing or navigating the LMS.
  • Promote and manage all aspects related to attendance of dealer personnel to training events, including registration tracking.
  • Attend Train the Trainer sessions and events as necessary in Toronto, and USA.
  • Actively pursue and participate in training and education activities that improve your own technical product knowledge and presentation/facilitation skills, including completing and maintaining all training certifications as required by the parent company.
  • Provide technical assistance or advice to other departments and dealers.
  • Participate in preparation and facilitation of the National Technician Competition as required.
  • Prepare examination questions as required for the Technician Recognition Program and other technical training courses.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Automotive Technician licenses (Red Seal an asset).
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Hold a valid passport with the ability to travel within Canada, the United States.
  • Fluently bilingual in English & French.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a technical automotive position within an OEM dealership; experience with the company is an asset.
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems and course creation software an asset.
  • Strong computer skills with intermediate skills in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Relevant instructional delivery experience in a technical environment.

  • Full bilingual - fluency in French & English (verbal and written) required.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex automotive systems.
  • Self-motivated including a strong desire to learn, teach, and mentor others.
  • Ability to build and sustain credibility with students and peers.

Physical Condition:

  • Extended periods of standing during training seminars.
  • Physically able to deliver mechanical demonstrations.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed, 30-40% ongoing travel.
  • Occasional weekends and long workdays.
