Position Overview:

We are in search of a highly proficient and committed Senior Network Security Engineer with expertise in SecOps to become a vital member of our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of practical experience in the design, deployment, operation, management, and troubleshooting of Palo Alto (PAN) firewalls, as well as implementing firewall rules using orchestration tools like AlgoSec. This position is essential for enforcing enterprise cybersecurity policies and controls across our network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Palo Alto firewalls, ensuring regular updates, patches, and upgrades to keep security features current.
  • Monitor firewall performance and health, addressing issues as they arise while optimizing performance through regular tuning and configuration adjustments.
  • Conduct routine reviews and audits of firewall configurations and policies to ensure adherence to security standards and best practices.
  • Utilize AlgoSec to automate and orchestrate firewall rule modifications, ensuring consistency and minimizing manual effort.
  • Integrate AlgoSec with existing security tools and workflows to enhance the management of firewall policies.
  • Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to address security incidents and vulnerabilities, focusing on potential threats and vulnerabilities within the firewall.
  • Provide 24/7 firewall monitoring, alert management, and support to swiftly respond to and mitigate security incidents.
  • Lead initiatives in threat detection, investigation, and response to security incidents.
  • Employ advanced cybersecurity tools and methodologies for incident response and management.
  • Develop and maintain incident response strategies and playbooks.
  • Keep detailed records of all changes, incidents, and resolutions for compliance and auditing purposes.
  • Ensure firewall configurations and policies align with industry regulations and standards.
  • Generate and maintain compliance documentation to support audits and regulatory obligations.
  • Regularly assess firewall configurations and policies against industry best practices, recommending and implementing enhancements to bolster security and performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Over 5 years of hands-on experience in the installation, configuration, and management of Palo Alto firewalls.
  • 5 years of experience managing and automating firewalls using AlgoSec.
  • 2 years of experience managing network infrastructure in cloud environments such as Azure or GCP.
  • Strong grasp of network security principles and best practices.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Relevant certifications, including: Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), AlgoSec Certified Security Expert (ACSE), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
