Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Commercial Manager to join our team. As a leader in Canadian construction for over 100 years, we are committed to delivering exceptional results and building strong relationships with our clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities- Administer contracts with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Develop and implement contract management processes and procedures to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Provide interpretation of contract language and legal requirements to ensure accurate and timely contractual correspondence.
- Negotiate changes, variations, and claims with clients and subcontractors to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Manage subcontractors and purchase orders, including resolving contractual issues and administering change entitlement.
- Develop and implement best practices and policies to improve commercial management processes and procedures.
- Present regular commercial management reports to senior management and provide recommendations for process improvements.
- Support project pursuit teams and estimating, and develop tender and RFP qualifications.
- Post-secondary education in a related field, and/or relevant combination of experience.
- 10+ years' leadership experience in the construction industry.
- Strong background in contract management and ability to use MS Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project, and Primavera P6.
- Excellent financial and numeracy management skills, with working knowledge of contract language and legal requirements.
- Ability to inspire trust and confidence in difficult situations, and forge, grow, and maintain positive relationships.
- Strong project management, organizational, and investigative skills, with ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritize work to achieve goals.
- Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with ability to simply complex concepts and communicate effectively at multiple levels.
