Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain robust relationships with existing freight carriers (road, air, ocean), Transportation Management Service Providers, and third-party logistics (3PL) warehouse locations.
  • Engage in negotiations with subsidiary freight carriers and 3PL warehouse facilities.
  • Monitor freight expenses closely, reviewing and approving all freight invoices before payment.
  • Oversee the performance evaluation process for all freight carriers and 3PL operations.
  • Manage and uphold the Primex Shipping and Full Truckload Rate guide procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) and the US Customs and Border Protection Agency, acting as the primary liaison for monitoring participation through the secure website portal.
  • Serve as the main contact for Carson Custom Brokers regarding all cross-border sales orders and transfers.
  • Address and resolve any issues related to freight, delivery, or invoicing.
  • Collaborate with Customer Support to plan and consolidate shipments using the most cost-effective modes and services.
  • Assist warehouses with shipping-related inquiries.
  • Provide freight quotes for both internal and external clients.
Service Commitment
  • Conduct meetings with freight and 3PL vendors to review account details, negotiate new rates and contracts, and resolve account-related issues.
  • Work collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, ensuring effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with related departments such as Customer Support, Sales, Warehousing, and Marketing to guarantee accurate and timely order deliveries.
Technical Skills
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities are essential.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain and logistics is highly advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills utilized across various internal departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with ERP and transportation management systems is beneficial.

Educational Qualifications
  • A college diploma or university degree in business, supply chain management, or transportation administration is preferred.
  • ASCM/APICS or similar certification is a valuable asset.
Compensation
  • Base Salary - $70,000 CAD - $75,000 CAD
