We are in search of an experienced Supply Chain Manager with a strategic mindset towards procurement. The ideal candidate will possess significant expertise in overseeing procurement operations, formulating purchasing strategies, and negotiating contracts within a manufacturing context. Exceptional leadership qualities and the ability to mentor less experienced staff are essential for this position.
Position Overview:
The Supply Chain Manager plays a pivotal role within the supply chain division, concentrating on strategic procurement initiatives, team leadership, and continuous process enhancement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct the procurement team in executing strategic purchasing initiatives.
- Participate in daily operational tasks to support the procurement team and maintain efficient workflows.
- Establish and nurture robust relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable and high-quality sourcing.
- Design and implement thorough purchasing strategies.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing terms with key suppliers.
- Conduct market analysis to identify optimal products and suppliers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement strategies with overall business objectives.
- Resolve complex supplier-related issues, including warranty claims and returns.
- Organize shipping logistics and related documentation.
- Guide and mentor junior team members in procurement best practices.
- Identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks to ensure operational continuity and discover cost-saving opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- ASCM certification is mandatory for this role.
- A minimum of 5 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with mechanical equipment, valves, instrumentation and control (I&C) systems, and electrical controls is crucial.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; advanced degree is preferred.
- Advanced skills in negotiation and supplier management.
- Proven track record in identifying and executing cost-saving initiatives.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance within procurement and supply chain operations.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in supply chain principles and procurement software.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and focused on customer service.
