CSU Safety Instrumented Systems Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled CSU Safety Instrumented Systems Specialist to join our team in Kitimat, British Columbia. As a key member of our Technology Department, you will play a critical role in supporting the commissioning and start-up phases of our client's facilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Support process control and safeguarding functionality for safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our client's facilities.
- Provide troubleshooting, maintenance, and continuous improvement of instrumented safety critical elements, including Fire & Gas systems, Instrumented Protection Systems, and Burner Management Systems.
- Collaborate with our client's team to ensure compliance with safety performance standards and technical safety requirements.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Management of Change (MOC) procedures and ensure alignment with process control and safeguarding scope.
- Participate in functional and detailed design, development, testing, and safe implementation of SIS systems.
- University degree or equivalent in Control Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or Mathematics.
- 8+ years of experience working with SIS in the process or oil and gas industries.
- 2+ years of experience with Yokogawa Centum VP and Yokogawa ProSafe.
- Certification in Functional Safety (TUV, CFSE, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Strong understanding of Functional Safety Standard (IEC 61508 and IEC 61511) and Process Safety concepts.
- Ability to contribute to decision support and assurance, as well as organizing and/or carrying out hands-on technical evaluations.
