The first Gordon Ramsay Burger in Canada is seeking a dedicated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. This role is pivotal in delivering Chef Ramsay's renowned burger experience, blending culinary artistry with classic comfort food. As a Sous Chef , you will oversee the culinary staff in crafting gourmet burgers, house-made sauces, and delightful sides, ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests. You will champion culinary excellence while maintaining key service priorities such as safety, cleanliness, quality, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities
Lead, guide, and mentor the culinary team at the location; establish performance goals and conduct evaluations for team members Organize and manage the schedules of culinary staff; delegate shift responsibilities; review and approve timekeeping records Instruct team members in the preparation, pre-cooking, cooking, and presentation of menu items in a timely manner, adhering to standardized recipes from Gordon Ramsay Prepare, pre-cook, cook, and present menu offerings; assist on the floor as necessary Maintain labor and food costs within budgetary guidelines as directed Submit food product needs for approval; may procure food and non-food items through regional purchasing programs Contribute to the creation of new menu items, standardized procedures, and inventory management Educate team members in new culinary techniques through hands-on demonstrations or coaching Review monthly inventory reports; assess discrepancies and take corrective measures; conduct inventory counts as needed Communicate effectively with all relevant operational departments Build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders: guests, management, team members, and suppliers Ensure adherence to licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and other statutory requirements Perform additional duties as assigned or directedEducation and Experience
High School Diploma; Post-Secondary education in culinary management or a suitable combination of education and experience is preferred Minimum of 2 years of experience in culinary management Red Seal certification through ITA or current enrollment in the program is an asset Food Safety Certification Level 2 Proficiency in MS Office applications Experience in a unionized environment is an asset Ability to successfully pass a Criminal Record CheckWork Environment Considerations
